Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how LowRange Labs ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our websites and applications, including Outroads and any other apps or games we publish (each, an "App"). This policy applies across our products; app-specific details are listed in the Data Collected Per App section below.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our Apps or website.
1. Information We Collect
The specific data collected depends on which App you use — see Data Collected Per App for the exact list per product. Broadly, we may collect:
- Location data. Where an App offers navigation, mapping, or location-based features, we access your device's GPS location to provide that functionality (e.g. showing your position on a map, protected-area boundaries, or nearby points of interest).
- Device information and crash data. We use Firebase Crashlytics (a Google service) to automatically collect device information (model, operating system, app version, locale) and crash/error logs when an App fails unexpectedly. This helps us diagnose and fix bugs.
- Basic usage information that App stores (Apple App Store, Google Play) provide to us in aggregate, such as install and crash counts.
We do not require account creation for our current Apps, and we do not knowingly collect information beyond what is described here or in an App's specific section below.
2. How We Use Information
We process this data on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating and improving our Apps (device and crash data) and to perform the service you've requested (location data, to show your position on the map).
- To provide and operate core App features (e.g. displaying your location on a map).
- To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve stability and performance.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. Third-Party Services
We rely on the following third-party services to help us operate our Apps:
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC). Collects device information and crash logs as described above. See Firebase's privacy and security policy and Google's Privacy Policy for details on how Google processes this data. Google may process this data outside the EEA/UK; Google relies on Standard Contractual Clauses and other approved safeguards for such transfers.
- OpenFreeMap and OpenStreetMap-based map data. Outroads may request online map styles, vector tiles, and map data based on the area you're viewing. These requests include your device's IP address and the viewport coordinates and are sent to the relevant map service to display the map; we do not link them to other personal data or store them on our servers.
We may add or change third-party services as our Apps evolve; this policy will be updated accordingly.
4. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We only share data with the third-party service providers listed above (to the extent necessary for them to perform their function), or where required by law, to protect our legal rights, or in connection with a business transfer (e.g. merger or acquisition).
5. Data Retention
We retain crash and diagnostic data for as long as necessary to diagnose and resolve issues, generally no longer than needed for that purpose. Location data used for on-device map display is not transmitted to or stored on our servers unless explicitly stated in an App's section below. Map tile requests (see Section 3) are sent to our map providers as a normal part of loading map imagery, but are not linked to any other data we hold about you.
6. Your Rights
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, or another jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your personal data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Request data portability, where applicable.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at lowrangelabs@gmail.com.
7. Children's Privacy
Our Apps are not directed at children under 16 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country, if different), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, or loss. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
